We are about one month away from Justice League hitting theatres, and DC just can’t help themselves but announce yet another movie that has nothing to do with the core the DCEU. It looks like The Terminator might be getting his own solo film. I’m not a fan of villains getting movies and the last time DC tried this it was a critical bomb, but Deathstroke might have enough pull to not stink at the box office. Read further on for my thoughts on a potential Deathstroke film.
Even though I have mixed feeling about a solo Deathstroke film, if Gareth Evan remains as director then from an action standpoint this could be an amazing film. If you haven’t heard of Gareth Evan prior to reading this post then you might know his film called The Raid. On paper this is a match made in heaven, but given WB’s track record with directors (most of the time) I hope he remains because I would love to see him bring his innovation to the DCEU.
Now that Deathstroke might be getting his own solo film, what does this mean for his appearance in the upcoming The Batman movie. Yes that films pre-production has its own turmoil but we haven’t heard that Deathstroke won’t be appearing in the film. The following sentence is pure speculation as I have no official sources giving me insider information. I highly doubt that Deathstroke will be in the upcoming Batman film, just based on the turmoil before that movie even starts production and the news released today. Now that doesn’t mean Deathstroke won’t appear it’s just something in my gut tells me he won’t. Which would be disappointing because I would have to love to see Batman and Slade Wilson duke it out on the big screen. What are your thoughts on a potential Deathstroke movie?
