Finally The Avengers Infinity War Trailer Is Here And It's Glorious

by | Nov 29, 2017

Nine years ago a small film called Iron Man caught the world by storm and it spurned the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fast forward to 2018 and after months of anticipation, The Avengers Infinity War Trailer has finally arrived. Will fans cheer with excitement? After watching this trailer and by gauging the reactions on Twitter, I think that’s a pretty safe bet. Continue reading for my thoughts on this trailer for Avengers Infinity War.

Okay now I have a moment to actually calm myself and write about this trailer, this film looks like the blockbuster to end all blockbusters. The scale that Infinity War appears to be operating on is just mind blowing. Immediately what first comes to my mind is the tone this trailer sets, and that tone is complete dread. I’m sure the film itself will have its slew of jokes and quips but I’m glad that took a back seat in this trailer. If the goal of this trailer was to set up how much of a threat that Thanos will be then mission accomplished.

Downfall of The Vision

Let’s talk about The Vision now shall we? If you would have told me that Marvel would actually commit to relationship between The Vision and The Scarlet Witch, I would have called you crazy. I was taken a bit back when I saw Paul Bettany on screen (albeit with a Infinity Stone), but I’m sure that’s Wanda’s doing. Despite knowing the Vision could be a victim in this film, it still took me by surprise to see him writing in pain. Going by that I have gut feeling that the Vision will be the heart of this story. I can’t wait to see how Wanda delivers a beat down to Thanos.

Proxima Midnight?

We already knew that Thanos wouldn’t be alone in the fight. If you closely examine this trailer you’ll get two glimpses at Thanos’ generals. It’s really difficult to see the overall design, but I love the small inclusion Proxima Midnight had. My hope is that these generals have actual character and are not simple grunts. Especially when you see hordes of Thanos’s army (who also look creepy and cool).

Overall Rating

Seeing almost every hero the MCU bring a tear to my eye. In 2012 it was surreal to see the core Avengers team on the same screen, Infinity War is that feeling times 100. That one shot of Doctor Strange, Wong, Bruce Banner, and Tony Stark still feels surreal to me. Grab your popcorn nerds, it’s gonna be a thrilling conclusion. What are your thoughts on the trailer?
