Hard to believe it, but the superhero train has brought along another passenger. When Civil War released last year, if fans we’re not raving about Spider-Man they were definitely going crazy about Black Panther’s debut into the MCU. Well the trailer has officially dropped. Read further on to read my thoughts on the latest installment of the MCU.
I’ll admit it right here, I’m not the biggest fan of Black Panther. I’ve always appreciated him as part of a larger universe, but I’ve never really given him a chance as a solo character. What I do know is that Wakanda is one of the great cities of the Marvel Universe. Not much was shown, but I love how this trailer has it’s own unique visual flare from any previous Marvel film, yet still feel apart of a greater universe. Even though I’m super excited for the film after watching this trailer I have to admit that there wasn’t much to go off in terms of substance.
With that being said I didn’t really expect anything story related to be in the trailer at all. This trailer’s sole purpose was to give audiences a small taste of what the world of Black Panther has to offer. Given that we saw T’challa in front of the United Nations and I believe that was his father narrating the trailer, I can’t help but feel that this film will be the most politically driven MCU to date. Given that the mantle of Black Panther isn’t just a superhero but a monarch so it would make sense to make this a political thriller. Are you excited for the Tchalla’s solo film? Are okay that Black Panther might be a political thriller? Let me know in the comments below!
