What a surprise I’m talking about Injustice 2 once again. I meant to write about this last week but I let it slip under my radar. Albeit it’s a very brief trailer but the stuff that’s inside makes me think we’ll be seeing some deja vu but with a new twist. Read further on to hear my thoughts on the latest Injustice 2 trailer.

As I’m watching this trailer I can’t help but think that this game paired along with Batman V. Superman last year would have been perfect synergy. The trailer itself centers around the evil Superman escaping and it’s up to Batman to stop him. I just hope that the story mode for Injustice 2 doesn’t pull another swerve and the heroes from Earth 0 return to stop them again. If that’s the case then it’ll be the same exact story from the first one, but I highly doubt that.
Since we know that Brainiac is involved in the plot somehow I suspect that either Superman or Brainiac will “use” each other in order to achieve their goals, and even though I’m admitting that here if I say that in the game itself I would scream holy shit to the high heavens. I will admit even though I played through and loved the first Injustice story mode it still chilling to hear Superman say there is no hope or you’re either with him or against him. Now don’t get me wrong I’m all for different interpretations and I think the writers for Injustice 2 are determined to make Superman feels unsettled as they further push the Man of Steel down into the depths of Hell.
On a final note it appears that Supergirl is going to be the lynch pin between the two factions fighting each other. Hopefully it’ll lead to some true emotional heartbreak as she will either turn on Superman or aide him in his quest for domination of the planet once again. I doubt this will happen since NRS has made no mention of (this is all pure speculation) it, but I hope they’re in some instance of player choice and it changes the plot according to whatever choice you made. If it did happen I don’t except something deep but something out of a Tell-Tale game.
