San Diego Comic Con is now over, and as the dust settles one bit of news has managed to escape the vortex. We learned more information about the upcoming Captain Marvel film starring Brie Larson, but one important detail was left out until now. Much to dismay of others Captain Marvel won’t be apart of Avengers: Infinity War. What does this mean? Is Marvel just lying to us? Read more to hear my thoughts on the subject.
Now I know that Carol Danvers has a rabid fanbase, and I would like to consider myself among them I’m glad that she isn’t part of this film. If you’re reading this then you already know how Carol Danvers went from Ms. Marvel to Captain, so you don’t need an explanation for the character. Having her debut in Infinity War (2018) an entire year before her film comes out would be disservice to the great Captain. This isn’t like Age of Ultron where it was okay to introduce Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and The Vision because the core cast wasn’t that huge to begin with.
Now with Infinity War, which involves pretty much every single character in the MCU she would be drowned out. They’re wouldn’t be enough time to give audiences a chance to relate to her, when they’ll also focusing on Doctor Strange, Ant-Man or The Guardians of The Galaxy. Let fans get to know before throwing her into the ultimate clash between good and evil. Plus it’s also been stated that Captain Marvel takes place in the 90’s so having her show up in Infinity War would spoil the end of her film. Even though she won’t be apart of movie itself, I’m pretty confident she’ll be one of many post credit stingers, then join the battle in Infinity War part 2.
